And if you like the heat, all good things must come to an end.
I am writing of the weather, mind you. And it is not often that I care to elaborate on the weather (unless, of course, ski season is approaching).
The weather this summer is beyond tiresome. If you have ever experienced a drought, you’ll understand where I’m going with this.
We survived the last drought by the seats off our britches. Once rains began to fall and dollars were available, we drilled enough water wells across the range to make a pincushion proud.
This drought around, though, we’re not exactly prepared. (How can one really prepare for catastrophe?) By God, though, we’ll get through it if we, and the critters, can beat the heat.
Beating the heat is the last thing left to do, with the AC on max, a cold brew, or a quick swim in the nearest stock tank!
