I don’t know if his bizarre disfigurement is the cause of this facade of affection. Likely it’s his unique personality and his strong will and determination to make a friend. I step close facing him and he presses his lowered head to my belly. “Hi you.” I pet the top of his head. “You’re okay here,” I whisper.”
